Things I Know #55- Your Mama is a snow blower Song of the day #31
It has been very quiet on the internet front here this last week.
I am quite happy living in a bubble at the moment.
It seems like every time I force myself to connect with the outside world via the internet I encounter so much crap that it is just better to remain switched off.
We have had a really good week, just chillin. The kids have been watching the movie Short Circuit on repeat and I have to admit it is kind of cool to see them so into something I liked when I was little!!
Although they have seen it so many times they can repeat it word for word!!
So there you have it, Things I Know for this week.

Confessing about procrastination Song of the day #24
The prompt this week over at My Home Truths is something you have been putting off.
Well my response is I am putting off everything!! I am living with my head in the sand and I am doing exactly what my phrase from the start of the year states and that is JUST KEEP SWIMMING!!'
Life has been so full on lately. If it isn't one thing it is another. Bring on Thursday when school holidays start and we get a little break from the norm.
I am really looking forward to the four day break that Easter brings. I have grand plans of catching up on some blog reading and also picking up a book and getting lost in a story for a while.
I also have not been sleeping well. I cannot tell you the last time I slept all night. I either cannot get to sleep or I fall asleep and wake up 20 minutes later then can't get back to sleep or like last night wake up at 215am and am still awake now. Ugggh!! Because I am up late most nights I have been sleeping in meaning I am missing my early morning hour of computer time. Uggh Uggh!!
Anyhoo it is what it is and I am just keeping on swimming!!
Linking up my woes in life with One Mother Hen for #openslather and confessing with Kirsty!! '
Any sleeping hints and tips are more than welcome!! I am out of ideas!!

Things I Know #53 Song of the day #21- Kiss
After a bit of a heart starter including a non activated credit card which had been activated and wasn't working, tickets were booked to see KISS in October. Woohoo!!
I don't think I am the worlds biggest KISS fan but it should be an awesome show!! We have pretty good seats too thanks to my ticket buying awesomeness!!
Other than that it hasn't been too bad a week.
Two birthdays in two days here, I now have a six year old in the house which blows me away. I was spoilt with some lovely pressies, then went to my workout with friends which included a punishing half hour of boxing then wine and cupcakes!! Due to this smasher of a workout I am unable to move my legs, yes legs not arms, so the last couple of days has been very very interesting!!
Thankfully that is it for birthdays in this house for a few months!!
Soccer is starting again this week. I have no doubt if I see one of these
I will lose it and laugh uncontrollably. Hopefully for the next few weeks the weather should be quite pleasant and actually enjoyable watching on the sidelines.
Speaking of weather we are well and truly into autumn now. Such lovely warm days and then much cooler nights, just the way I like it!!
Have a good one guys!!

Wordless Wednesday- Happy birthday to me, Song of the day #18
This is one of my fave pics!! |
I am wishing myself a Happy Birthday today. If you are as old as you feel that would make me about 102!!
The reason my birthday is so exciting in this house is because it is the day before year 1 kid's!!
6 years ago little did I realise that my 30th birthday would be my last day of freedom before this very cute cherub arrived in a hurry 5 weeks early!!

Things I Know #52 Song of the day #13- Karma
It has been a long week here, again!!
Next week will be better I am sure of it!!
In light of some very funny text messages between a few people I have decided to be like the frog and sit back and watch karma do it's thing!!
I am glad I found the clip of Instant Karma, it is worth watching just for Yoko and her eccentricities!!
At the end of 52 weeks of hosting this fab linky I am thanking you all for your continued support!!
I promise to be over to visit you all this weekend sometime!!

Things that are making me go hmmm, Song of the day #10
The Lounge girls are talking about things that make you go hmmmm this Thursday and I am joining in with a very brief point form of all the things this week that have given me the irrits.
- No time for blogging.
- No time for anything remotely fun.
- Teething toddlers.
- Teething toddles who are well into the "terrible twos" when they are not even two.
- Experts who do not acknowledge the terrible twos.
- Older children who antagonise the child who is "terrible"
- Older children who do not listen or do what they are told.
- Older children who do not go to bed until late every night then complain they are tired the next day then repeat this behaviour for weeks on end.
- Older children who cost me money last week at the auto electrician as someone shoved 5 cent coins into the cigarette lighter which shorted something out and meant my lights and clock and mirrors were not working.
- Socks which do not match.
- Big name shops (tarjay, big dud and best and very less) who are refusing to stock kids cossies and have a limited range of school clothes.
- Big name shops who forced me to trek around a shopping centre on Sunday trying to track down the elusive items. Had the stupid shops had what I was after I probably would have spent more money with them as I would have been relaxed and non stressed instead I walked out with virtually nothing.
- Harmony Day- how about we all just live and let live, be polite and courteous and not pretend that every single person is our friend?? I could really go on about this one but I won't!!
- Losing one of my thongs (flip flops) down a drain yesterday.

One Perfect Moment- all grown up, Song of the day #9
Life is easier for the first time in nearly six years. The day the photo was taken it was hot and we all wanted to go to the beach so we did. We chucked our cossies on, threw some towels in a bag and headed off. just like that (except for a spare nappy for the littlest!!).
The baby stage is long gone and while I miss it a little I am also very happy about it!! Although the toddler stage is absolutely ruining me!!
I have been shopping a couple of times and bypassed the baby sections without even thinking about it as I have no need to look at teeny tiny little clothes anymore.
There will be no more babies in this house and when I look at the photo I am ok about it.

Same old same old around here again this week!!
We have survived another week.

I am looking forward to Sunday, I am off to the movies to see Home with the 4 year old. It will be nice to just be the two of us.

Things I Know #49- Technology can bite me
I think it is time for my computer to go to the doctors and have a medical.
It has been a piece of junk lately.
I have had it switched off for 3 days!! It seems to be working again now. For how long I do not know!!
Song of the week is a catchy number with such a cool film clip!!
Have a goos one guys!!

Smile for one perfect moment!!
This video should be compulsory viewing for anyone thinking about having kids!! It is reality, pure reality!!
I am linking up with Kylie who has a fab new link up called One Perfect Moment. I am hoping that for one perfect moment the whole world lightens up, stops taking its self so seriously and laughs and relaxes rather than be so uptight and politically correct.
Today I choose to crack a smile, have a giggle, a belly laugh, chuckle etc rather than be cranky and grumpy.
I hope more people do the same thing today!!
I am also linking up with One Mother Hen for #openslather and My Home Truths for I Must Confess (this weeks confession topic is your middle name. I don't have one and neither does the HOTH. I wanted my boys to have a middle name and they each have a special name!!)

Things I Know #48- The Tuesday edition
Clearly it is not Friday today, I do know this!! So do not freak out if you are seeing this before Friday!!
After a quick think about my week this week I came to the conclusion that if I wanted #tik to be as promised up on Friday morning at 6am I should do it now in the spare 2 minutes available!!
Now I know you will probably say why not schedule it for Friday?? Well technology has not been my friend lately and I would be more than likely to schedule it for 2016 or something like that!!
In fact after last Friday's dramas of an updating computer I am not risking any more dramas!!
The computer actually decided to update itself again on Saturday afternoon when I had the chance to have a sneaky 5 minutes of quiet time. It really hates me!!
We are well and truly back in the swing of the whole real life thing. The holidays are a distant memory!!
In the next couple of weeks life will get even busier, To the point on one day we will have to be in two places at the same time. I am considering buying a helicopter to get us from point A to point B in the shortest possible time!!
In other news I had a very embarrassing but funny incident a couple of weeks ago. It was a rainy Thursday morning. One of those days where we were running a little late, we walked out the front door to walk to the bus stop and the bus drove straight past. Note to self- on rainy days the bus runs early as no one gets on it!! Anyway I was going to have to drive to preschool as it was drizzling so we all piled into the car and I was going to drop year 1 kid off after the preschool run, no biggie. After the preschool drop off I headed to school. As I headed down past the first turn off to the school on my way to the second turn off a highway patrol car saw me and put his lights on. I turned into the drop off road and pulled over and so did the police car. I turned the engine off and then realised that I had had my high beams on. To top it off I also realised my licence was in my wallet which was in the pram in the back yard. I was shitting bricks I won't lie. I am very grateful to the policeman as after he subjected me to a breath test and a wait while he checked all my details he let me off because I have an exemplary driving record (yes I am that good!!). I swore never to drive with my high beams on and to always have my licence on me at all times and that was the end of that. Clearly he understood what life with kids is like and that lets face it shit happens. Year 1 kid is still carrying out about how I was arrested because my car wasn't registered. For the record it is registered in the HOTH's name not mine and I was not arrested, I do not know where this kid gets his over exaggerations from!! Probably half the school drove past while I was sitting there being breath tested etc. We then had to wait until the police car left so I could drive to the top of the street and stop in a no stopping zone to drop off the over exaggerator!! Luckily one of his mates walked past and he got out and walked with him and his mum, happily telling the story of my arrest!!
Lastly, and no I have not lost my mind, I am signing up to do The Colour Run. Aliens have not invaded my body and stolen my brain!! I am going to do a 5k run/walk/crawl/shuffle/roll!! Yes I know this is something I never thought would do let alone look forward to but there we have it!!
Song of the week is not unanimous. I was told to turn off the "girl music" in the car yesterday to which I responded like the worlds biggest mum by saying when you get a car you can pick the music!!

Things I know #47- Goon bags
Massive technical problems this morning, massive.
Apparently the lappy needs to update itself.and has been doing so for the last 30 minutes
I knew I should have finished this last night!
Stupid technology!!
I hope your week has been less annoying than mine!!
I will add the linky once the computer decides to work!!
UPDATE!!
At school bus time it still had more to update but now approximately 7 hours later it is now functioning again!!
I had to go out hence only getting back to this now!!
Song of the week goes to this catchy number in honour of the 50th anniversary of the goon bag/cask wine/ box wine being invented!!
As someone who may have had my fair share of the box of magic I would like to congratulate the inventor and thank him for providing such a vital service!!
Cheers!!
I absolutely swear #tik will be up at 6am next Friday, rain hail, shine or updating computers!!

#IBOT randomness
I am loving this song, loving it. First time I heard it I loved it. Then I heard who the artists are- 2 tools and one of the most talented people in the whole world ever. Sir Paul what on earth were you thinking!! I am now embarrassed to admit to liking this but whatever!!
Dear Foo Fighters
I would have sold my first born to get a ticket to see you guys but the stupid adult angel sitting on my shoulder made me realise going to a mega awesome concert on a Thursday night was just never going to happen.
Thursday night, seriously?? Who in the mother of all hells came up with that date?? Because yeah Thursday night totally works for me, as does the Friday seedy morning after. Maybe if it wasn't a school night!!
Maybe next time you awesome legends!! For now I will just enjoy your music via the tube as I keep forgetting to buy a cd!! Being a responsible, mature grown up really sux.
Last word goes to The Street. Love the positive message in this song!!

I am that over coming up with dinner ideas lately it is a complete joke. So when the HOTH pointed this recipe out in a magazine a few weeks ago I was all over it!!
I cooked plain chicken for the kids and gave them rice without coriander. I had brought them some bread rolls but they ended up eating the tortillas!! So next time I make it I will be adding some frozen veg in with the rice and buying an extra pack of tortillas!!
I call this a winning meal as it was easy, quick and we all ate it (which is rare)!!

What's on Ann's mind
I think maybe it is a little wacky!!
Is there any teachers (love your work) out there who can shed some light as to why I was required to buy these bloody expensive connector pens as opposed to normal run of the mill textas??
While on school supplies does anyone actually make 48 page exercise books anymore?? Also why can the schools not use there massive buying power and bulk buy all the required crap lessening the price??
After leaving school supply buying until the last minute a mad dash around the shops while the phone was being fixed proved very successful. I swear next year I will not leave it to the last minute!! Actually I swear I will try not to leave it to the last minute!!
Char left a comment the other day and is a complete mind reader!! I had mentally made a playlist of music I can play from tomorrow onwards when school goes back!! Pink being top of the list!! Damn kids and there learning of songs meaning anything with even the remotest swear word is off limits!!
So that is what is on my mind this week, what's on yours??

Things I Know #44- Back to school
Next week is the return or start of school for the majority of Australian kids after summer holidays.
WooooooooooooooooooooooooooHooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!
I actually have two very excited boys, year 1 kid has been bugging me for weeks now as he wants to go back to school and find out who his teacher is and who is in his class etc.
It just so happens that preschool starts back on the same day.
That could not have worked out better if it tried.
By about 910am on Wednesday I shall be a free (sort of) woman with just one menace at home!!
For a blissful 6 hours!!
Then I get to repeat this on Thursday as well!!
Not that I have thought too hard about it!!
Apparently Mother Nature has organised rain for Wednesday. Ace it up MN. I will be doing the drop off and getting out of the car and the pick up so back off with the rain.
So this week I know the countdown is on and also happy Straya day!!
Have a great long weekend guys!! Is there anything more Australian than cheap wine and a three leg goat!!
