I must confess- not quite a foodie!!

Baked goat, no thanks!!

Once every six weeks dinner is booked at our very fancy local restaurant and our mums group gather for some good food, wine and a natter.  It has become something I really look forward to.  Even if getting out of the house by 730pm is like some kind of military exercise!!

I have to confess when I eat out I usually go for the vegetarian option as I am very fussy with meat and I don't eat seafood!!  I will always get dessert too!!

Last time we were there baked goat was on the menu, ewwwwwww.

Years ago before kids the HOTH and I had dinner at the revolving restaurant at Centrepoint Tower (no idea what it is called now!!).  He tried a tasting plate with kangaroo, crocodile, emu.  Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.  Apparently it wasn't that good from memory!!

That was a great night, we didn't get to eat dinner at the revolving tables but we had a few drinks after in the revolving part which was pretty cool.

Man V Food is a great show for not only the weird and wonderful food but also the challenges!!  I am sure this episode features the best looking doughnut shop in the world!!

Linking up with Kirsty from My Home Truths for I must confess and Alicia from One Mother Hen for #openslather.

Fess up would you eat baked goat??!!

  1. I'm kind of horrified and addicted to Man vs Food - so much meat! It's disgusting.
I've had crocodile (not tasty, and chewy) and kangaroo (but not a fan because we used to buy it for the dogs, and it would sit in the sink defrosting in a pool of blood...so to me, it will always be dog food!)

  2. I love Man vs Food, but some of the challenges he does (especially the ones involving chilli laced foods) are disgusting and make me want to throw up. I'm always amazed at how massive the servings are in America.

  3. I have tried goat, and roasted it tastes just like lamb to me, I had venison at the revolving restaurant...I did not even know what it was...and it was awful, tasted really strong and 'gamey'. I don't experiment much but love to eat something exotic when I go out ( which is like never) :)

  4. I am with you in that I don't really dig meat at all. I eat beef since having children but prior to my first born, I was a vegan vegetarian for 4 years and a vegetarian as well before and after. I have in past times eaten rattlesnake and crocodile. Snake was actually really tasty! No plans on eating things with eyes really in future. I find it hard to eat beef but feel at this stage of my life I do need the strength meat provides.

  7. I'm not very adventurous with foods either. Curries or some mildly spicy things are as daring as I get. I just like my cake. I'm with you - I'll always go for dessert!

  8. I would probably try it if it had some tasty flavours with it! Being born and bred on a farm I can't go past a tasty lamb roast etc, but I have NEVER eaten veal and I NEVER will, on humanitarian grounds, does that make me a hypocrite?

  11. lol Ann. We were given some goat chops once, and yes I cooked them and ate them!! They weren't that great, I probably didn't cook them properly. Prefer lamb chops anyday!

  12. I was watching MKR and a lot of the stuff they cooked - there is no way I would ever eat it - including goat and offal and other icky stuff ...

  13. I love Man V Food, some of those challenges are incredible, and I don't know how he does it!!
When I was waitressing, we had to try everything on the menu, including kangaroo, emu, buffalo, possum and crocodile. I didn't like any of them, as I'm not such a huge meat fan.
I think getting together regularly with your girls is a fabulous idea xx

  14. I've watched a few episodes of Man vs Food and some of the stuff on there was amazing. I am not adventurous when it comes to food at all. We had a school camp when I was in grade 6 and we had goats milk every night with dinner..even with milo in it, it wasn't that great.
