FFS Saturday

You have reached the answering machine of help!!  I'm Stuck!!

Ann is snowed under with unpacking and stopping 2 mongrel children from escaping the only unfenced part of the yard and walking on the unsealed concrete or running to the neighbours house.  FFS

Also the HOTH has been home for 2 days and is off until Tuesday due to the long weekend.  FFS

He does not see the computer as being productive.  FFS

Ann would like to thank all the well wishers regarding the safe travels of the alcohol.  It made it safely and has been unpacked into its own cupboard.  FFS

It was a tense half an hour waiting to hear if it was ok.  FFS

The one night a yummy bottle of moscato was opened and enjoyed a certain baby true to form woke up in the night.  FFS

These kids are trying to send Ann to the loony bin.  FFS

If you need Ann in the next 3 days she will be around checking emails and facebook on the mobile phone that cavemen would have used.  FFS

So leave a message after the beep!!

BEEP.  FFS

FFS Friday- Sick again for something different.

Sick again. FFS

More snot everywhere. FFS

Moving this weekend.  FFS

Carpet still not finished meaning I cannot move  the boys into their room.  FFS

My parentals are visiting which is a whole other post.  FFS

I did get a tonne of free stuff from them though.  FFS

Went late night shopping for the first time in years.  It sucked.  FFS

Do people really wear fluro mini shorts out to clubs?  FFS

I clucked my way around the baby department and sadly realised that the baby would not fit into even the biggest baby stuff.  FFS

I really should not be blogging but who cares.  FFS

Lastly my computer is about to blow up courtesy of a 20 month old who finds it hilarious to lean on the "bruttons" until it squeals for mercy/  FFS

Catch you on the flipside of the chaos that will be the next 7 days.  If I am not back next week send booze and a new computer!!

Wordless Wednesday- The Park of my dreams!!

There have been 3 positives for me in moving to our rental property
  • Being close to 4 different supermarkets
  • Being only a 15 minute drive from swimming lessons instead of 45 minutes
  • Lastly finding this little gem of a park across the road and down a bit from our place.
It was clearly designed by a woman who has little kids who love to climb and explore without being helicoptered  This is absolutely the best park for little kids there should be more around  This particular afternoon I got to sit in the beautiful almost spring like sun while the crazy kids ran, climbed, played and explored.  I will miss it when we move home.

smile boys!!  i took this from the other side of the park and love how it turned out with a bit of zooming and cropping!! A totally random photo now one of my favourites!!

I know this is "Wordless Wednesday" but not saying anything is impossible for me!!  Linking up for the first and probably final time with My Little Drummer Boys as my photography skills are absolutely shocking!!

Mini Muffins

Another stolen recipe!!

Mini Muffins

Ingredients

  • 2 zucchini grated                          I use 1 zucchini and 1 carrot
  • 1 onion finely chopped                I grate the onion in and add 1 crushed garlic clove too
  • 3 bacon rashers                             Or shredded ham.  Or leave out for vegetarian.
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 cup s/r flour
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients together.
  2. Spoon into mini muffin tray.               You can put them in normal sized trays just cook for longer!!
  3. Bake at 150-180 for approx 15 minutes.
  4. Makes 48 & freezes well
These are so yummy and both my kids will eat them!!  I have also made it in a loaf tin and it turned out well too!!  There is no need to put them in the cupcake cases!!
This is another one of those recipes you can chuck other stuff into like corn, tomato, chopped spring onion instead of normal onion etc.  The key is chopping it up really small if you are making the little ones.  Enjoy!!

FFS friday- I have hayfever and it sux

I have hay fever and it sux.  FFS

Full credit to the person who invented the up your nose and away it goes cure for it but why can it not be tasteless so I do not nearly vomit every time I spray it.  FFS

I sealed my already busted phones fate by dropping it on the tiles while waiting for the carpet layer who had slept in past 10am.  FFS

I want his life, who the hell sleeps in past 10am.  FFS

By 10am we are on to morning tea round 2.  FFS

I had to buy a new phone which is like  something cave men would have used.  FFS

Meanwhile the HOTH loves rubbing his iphone and pad in my face at any given opportunity.  FFS

Speaking of the HOTH I never did get around to showing him this little blog.  I was about to then the dog caught a possum which died.  FFS

Poor little possum must have been sick to be on the ground and not able to get away plus it had dropped a tonne of fur.  FFS

In other news we are in the clear with the rental as someone is taking it off our hands.  Good luck to them.  Must have been the way I cleaned the mould off the bathroom ceiling that made them take it.   FFS

I have not wiped a snotty nose for about 4 days.  I have so much time on my hands now.  FFS

best shop ever.  I could have brought so much stuff!!
Oh and I may have the makings of a real blogger as I took a photo of a random thing in a shop to put in a post.  I know 2 blogging bingo Nana's who will like it.  FFS

And lastly I had the shits the other day when I saw a certain blogger was running a competition to win a $50 voucher for shoes but as I still cannot comment on that certain blogger's blog I cannot enter.  FFS

But if I won it I would use it for an outdoor wine bucket I have had my eye on.  Its nearly summer I need cold wine.  FFS

Thats me done there are boxes to be packed and kids to wrangle.

Thankful Thursday- reflection

This story here really made me think yesterday.  It made me think just how truly blessed my life is and how THANKFUL I am.  I am not usually so serious but after reading this great post by the fabulous http://www.wanderlustlust.com/ my brain went into overdrive.

So I am going to link up for the first time for THANKFUL THURSDAY.because today I am very thankful.

  • Thankful that I can donate a small amount of money to such a worthy cause.
  • Thankful that I do not know what it is like to not give birth safely and with proper equipment and sanitary conditions
  • Thankful that my children have way too many clothes and toys and do not know what it is like to be hungry or cold or not have proper medical assistance if they need it.
  • Thankful that my biggest problems in the world are so freaking minor and not real problems at all that it is embarrassing.
  • Thankful that I can help in my own way not only this cause but so many others by buying merchandise at the supermarket (although I do sometimes wonder how much of a $4 pen the charity actually gets), donating stuff to charity shops, buying stuff at charity shops, getting animals from the rspca and animal welfare league, buying raffle tickets to help the local charities in my area, buying fund raising chocolate (everyone knows those giant freddos are not bad for you).
  • Thankful that I have a computer and Internet access to be able to communicate and gain knowledge and entertainment and have a way to share such awesome causes.
I think thats it today, I will be back whinging tomorrow.
Thankful Thursday

Happy Fathers Day, Happy Birthday. I hope you dont mind that I put down in words!!

Dear The HOTH

Our house officially became ours yesterday after years of heartache, disappointment and most of all BLOODY OLD FASHIONED HARD WORK.

Its a sign that all your hard work, crazy hours and trips working away have totally paid off.  It is the second best thing we have done as a couple/team.  The first being our 2 amazing boys.  Although in fairness I was the one who actually gave birth twice while you conspired with the midwives to not give me drugs!!

I am so happy that you are such a handyman and are doing so much of the work around the new place.  While most dads were having a nice relaxed fathers day you were digging holes and making a retaining wall with my help I must add!!  Then came back and barbecued your own homemade burgers!!

This sunday being your birthday you will be installing the lights as you are a qualified sparky but I do not need to remind you of the bathroom fan debacle that I will forever hold against you.  So just warning you that any lights that do not switch on with the correct switch will result in my nagging.  You will probably be bbqing again but I may splash out and buy you steak!!

I am lucky you do not care about expensive presents as you got some lovingly handmade stuff from the boys for fathers day and you are getting an $8 tshirt, a lotto ticket and a book.  The book you picked out in target the other day when we were supposed to be looking at dinner sets and I had to call you and yell profanities when you had disappeared and I was left with 2 whinging kids in a trolley.  Oh yeah and you are also getting Sons Of Anarchy season 4 on dvd but its not here yet and if you think I am going to wait to watch it you are sadly mistaken.

Now pull your finger out and get back to work so we can move in and more importantly finish the house completely so I can start squirrelling money away for Fiji 2014.  We will need a fair bit of cash as I plan on getting a massage everyday and only drinking that awesome Fijian beer we fell in love with until we saw the price!!  Not to mention the many cocktails in the adult pool and all the duty free stuff I will be getting!!

Seriously we love you and I CANNOT wait to take your annual birthday photo with the boys outside of our brand new house!!

Love from

Ann, the big one and the baby. xxxxxxxxxx

PS smart arse comments such as "you having a dishwasher is like me getting Jim's mowing" will be dealt with with violence from now on.

PPS please don't be mad about me blogging.  You did tell me to get a hobby!!

Whoops sadly this was scheduled for sunday afternoon but it did not work, stupid blogger.  We did not get the photo outside the house as the kids were rotten from partying the day before but we did get a photo before bed and no steak for dinner but here is a house photo anyway!!
not the best photo as it is from my phone and I am still to lazy to get the camera!!
linking up for ibot again after 2 weeks of sickness!!

Impossible Pie/ Quiche- Dinner tonight

http://edaic.wordpress.com/2012/01/29/cooking-27-quiche/  pop over and check out Chelle's photos!!

4x eggs
1x cup plain flour
1x cup milk
1x cup cream or sour cream
1 x diced onion
1x cup shredded ham
1x grated carrot
1x grated zucchini
1x cup grated cheese
salt & pepper.

Mix it all up, pop it in a baking dish (square lasagne dish is what I use), sprinkle grated cheese on top, cook at 180 for 1hr

Chelle from http://edaic.wordpress.com/  just about saved my life when she put this recipe up a while ago!!  I had one similar that was my Nan's called Impossible Pie and lost it but this one turns out way better than the one I had anyway!!

This my oh crap we have nothing for dinner, its raining and I cannot leave the house, a child or myself is sick and we cannot leave the house, emergency dinner!!  I now have this bookmarked and cook it at least every 3 weeks!!

It is so easy and really the eggs, cheese, milk, cream (I use sour cream as I never usually have normal cream) and flour ( I have used self raising by mistake more than once and it turns out fine just a bit puffier than normal!!) are the base ingredients and everything else can be added to suit.  I have added chopped tomato, crushed garlic, creamed corn, normal corn, leftover roast vegies, cooked chicken, baby spinach, and mushrooms.  Not all at once but whenever I have something laying around that can go in I chuck it in!!

I usually serve it with salad.  It is yummy straight out of the oven or cold.  I will be making it to take on a picnic as it would travel well cold.or even in a lunchbox for school lunches.

Enjoy!!

FFS Friday- Not too much to report this week

It seems I do not have a lot of things to say FFS about this week.  FFS

Life here is pretty damn good as we officially have our new house.  I would put up pics but am too lazy!!.  FFS

Last Friday morning I would have had a whole post but it seems that finally the stars have aligned for us and things could not be better.  FFS

All thanks to the HOTH and his attractiveness to the weird and wonderful characters in the world.  He is now in more than ever with our small town mafia family and one of them helped us out unbelievably on Friday and Saturday.  FFS

Some minor things have happened
  • on Monday the HOTH said to the baby "gee mate you have been sleeping well"  I spat chips and made him knock on wood as everyone knows you don't say things like that out loud, Monday night the baby woke up for the first time in a week.  FFS
  • I finally went to the doctor and got antibiotics, I now feel a gazillion times better.  FFS
  • Slightly less snot around here for the first time in 2 weeks.  FFS
  • I may have given both boys permanent head injuries over the weekend by hitting the big one in the head with a shovel and shutting a cupboard door into the babies head.  FFS
  • I have accepted defeat on winning the mother of the year award.  FFS
  • At least the big one did not tell the world about how mummy hit him in the head with a shovel.  FFS
I am also taking bets on how long it will take the HOTH's family to hit us up for Christmas at our place as we have a rello bash to go to on Saturday.  Odds are it will be within the first 15 minutes.  FFS

I will happily have the gathering at our place as long as the roles are reversed and all I have to do is mow the lawn and drive around buying bags of ice.  FFS

Have I mentioned Christmas gives me the shits.  FFS

The weather here has been perfect so warm and sunny which means summer clothes.  Mine seem to have shrunk since last summer.  FFS

Also the warm weather has stuffed up my outfit for the bash on Saturday.  FFS

That's it for me as the baby has pretty much trashed the computer and it now shits itself with no notice.  FFS

Oh and parental parody if you are reading this I still cant comment on your blog and the sock fairies turned up 4 matching clean pairs of kids socks taking me back in the running for mother of the year.  I have stashed them for special occasions.  FFS

Key Lime Pie

Key lime pie

From The Australian Women's Weekly, Feb 07
Key lime pie

Serving size: Serves 8
Cuisine type: American
Cooking time: Less than 60 minutes
Special options: Heart friendly, Kid friendly, Low Carb, Low cholesterol, Low fat
Course: Dessert
Favourite flavours: Cakes/baking

INGREDIENTS

An American favourite from Florida, this recipe traditionally uses Key limes.

150g Granita biscuits
80g butter, melted
4 egg yolks
400g can sweetened condensed milk
1 tablespoon finely grated lime rind
½ cup (125ml) lime juice
300ml thickened cream, whipped
METHOD

Preheat oven to moderate (180°C/160°C fan-forced).

Process biscuits until fine. Transfer to a bowl; stir in butter. Press mixture
over base and side of a 23cm pie plate. Place plate on oven tray and bake for 10 minutes or until browned lightly. Cool.

Beat egg yolks in a small bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
On low speed, add condensed milk, rind and juice.

Pour the mixture into prepared crust. Bake for about 12 minutes or until just set. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until required. Remove pie from refrigerator 30 minutes before serving.

Cut pie into wedges. Serve with whipped cream and extra lime rind,
if desired.

Suitable to freeze. Butter suitable to microwave.

http://aww.ninemsn.com.au/food/cookbooks/790475/key-lime-pie

Yes I did just steal this recipe but it is way too good not to share!!  If someone invites me for a bbq this is what I am bringing!!

I am not a cook in fact I despise recipes that are complicated or have a lot of ingredients or use multiple machines which I do not own but this is an exception.  I bring out the 30 year old mixer and use my blender for the crumbs although a processor is on my hit list of appliances to own.

This is so easy and tastes divine.  I use ginger nut bickies as the lime and ginger really go well together.  I use the whole pack of bickies and a little more butter.  I cook the base for slightly less time than they say or it can become very crunchy and I do not worry about the cream.  I usually just serve it with ice cream or some thickened cream!!

Make it and enjoy!!

Bloggers Boogey- 90;s Gems

Little White Dove

I love my digital radio and have it constantly tuned to http://www.chemistwarehousemix90s.com.au/.  It totally rocks and is so awesome!!  Who knew how many awesome songs there were in the 90's!!  This 5 were played back to back the other day and had me dancing around like a crazy woman!!   I may or may not own at least 3 on cd single or album!!
