The Wind Down

The countdown is on.  Not the countdown to Christmas but the countdown to the best part of this time of year.  The blissful few weeks when there is NOTHING on.  Nowhere to go, nowhere to be.  No driving here there and everywhere.  Two and a half weeks of absolutely nothing.  This is without doubt the part of the whole festive season I look forward to the most.

There will be time to catch up with friends for longer than a quick chat.  There will be loads of family time with the 5 of us.  There will be days we go out and do things and there will be days we don't.  I say bring this on.

This is really the only time of year where everything we are involved in shuts down.  Every single thing!!

School holidays with no morning rush, no uniforms to have ready, no lunch boxes and fruit breaks to prepare, no clock watching, no pick ups, no drop offs,.  I think you get the picture!!  Although I have a feeling it is going to be a long 6 weeks and the end of January will not come quickly enough!!

Just 11 days to go and the fun begins!!  Just a little excited!!

Linking up this little excitement with Where the Wild Things Were for Sunshine Sunday.  Also linking up for #openslather with One Mother Hen

  1. I love this time of year, for exactly the same reason. Working in the building industry, this is the only time of the year, the phone stops ringing, but not usually until Christmas eve. Enjoy your silly season!

  4. I have no kids at school anymore but I will never forget how much I loved school holidays for exactly the reasons you listed! Mind you - by the end of the Christmas school holidays I was well and truly ready to send my little treasures back ;-)

  5. I thought parents hated school holidays lol. We don't really get a holiday over christmas. Trent has worked Christmas day for the last 4 years in a row so this year he finally has the day off, but is back to work on Boxing Day (and he doesnt get paid PH rates). When I was working I was managing a retail store so Christmas is always the busiest time of year and when I had to work the most so I never really looked forward to it at all. This year is the first year I've actually been looking forward to it to be honest.

  7. Last week of kindy drop offs for me. I can't wait to slow down. We have a busy time ahead of us now though, so I don't see much rest, and I know the next month or so is going to go so fast. Enjoy your holidays xx
