#FFFi14 and Bloggers Boogie- Story
A new year and a new reading challenge from Little White Dove. Last year was 13/13, read 13 books in 2013. I managed 4 which was 2 more than 2012 so I called it a win and am not too sad about it!! I did however read about 500 childrens books!!
This year is to pick 5 books you have always wanted to read and read them. Simple!!
I have got 2 in mind so far. The first is Sycamore Row by John Grisham. The second is the new Bridget Jones book. Now I am stumped. I need 3 more. I want to read a biography, a non fiction and maybe some kind of classic. Any suggestions very welcome!!
Turns out Bloggers Boogie is back Yay!! My 5 for this week are all story related!! Yes I did add OneD I really like the song!! Brandi Carlile is from Greys Anatomy, and the last song is from The Princess Bride and I am so glad I rediscovered it today!!
Linking up a sneaky Saturday post with Little White Dove for Bloggers Boogie and also making this a Things I Know with The Miss Cinders because I know I am excited about reading five whole books!!

My favourite books are all fiction so might not fit your brief but I'll give them to you anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe Book Thief - Markus Zusak
Chocolat - Joanne Harris
Plain Truth - Jodi Picoult
Midwife's Confession - Dianne Chamberlain.
Plain Truth was one I did read last year, I liked it!! Love Jodi Picoult. I think I might give The Book Thief a try. Thanks for the suggestions!!
DeleteI didn't know there was a new Bridget Jones book! How exciting ... does that mean there'll be another film too? I can't think of any biographies that I'd recommend off the top of my head, but I really enjoyed Richard Branson's autobiography 'Losing my Virginity'. I really like some of the South American authors like Isabel Allende and Paulo Coelho. Their novels aren't classics, but I think they're great reads.
ReplyDeleteI have heard rumours of a movie!! I admire Richard Branson so I would probably like to read about him, thanks for the suggestion.
DeleteI vote the book thief too. Read it a while ago and want to reread it again this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks I think I will give it a go!!
DeleteOhh I might have to join in with the reading challenge!
ReplyDeleteI recommend:
April Fools Day: Bryce Courtenay
Juliet: Anne Fortier
Warm Bodies: Isaac Marion
The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare isn't too bad too.
Loved April Fools Day Tegan. Bryce sure was a fantastic story teller. Such a sad story. Thanks for the other recommendations.
DeleteI have the new Bridget Jones ready to read. Ive also got Jane Lynchs (Glee) bio for this year. I also want to read The Color Purple too. Only seen the movie. Im told the book is fantastic. Good luck my friend!
ReplyDeletePick 2 more and you are in!! Love Jane Lynch that would be a fascinating book.
DeleteGood luck on getting your books read. I haven't read anything but kids books for years, so I have nothing to suggest! I really enjoy reading a good book too, maybe it's something I can strive for this year, 1 book!!
ReplyDeleteAt this rate 1 book will be my lot too!!
DeleteA must read classic also an easy read To Kill a Mockingbird, I have nearly finished it in 4 sittings, loved it. Rae xxx
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you joining in with both the FFFi14 challenge and the Boogie! Looking forward to seeing what you read this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea and the boogie!!
DeleteOkay that's a tough question, my top 3 I read last year are -
ReplyDelete*To Kill a Mocking Bird.
*The Book of Joe - I love this book, I've read it like 5 times lol
*Cloudstreet.
Not sure how many books I read last year, I know it was a lot! My dream would be to own a house, just so I could build a massive library in it.

DeleteOh, how I used to love to read books! I can't do it anymore. It's like my toddler has sucked out all my brain. How do you do it, Ann?????
ReplyDeleteI plan on finding more time this year to read, not sure how though!! Isn't it amazing how kids can suck the brains out!! I hope the brains come back when the kids leave home!!
